StartCHURCH and ARMI – A Kingdom Partnership

By Javan Smith

A well-known African proverb says, “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.” While that exact phrase does not appear in Scripture, its message resonates with biblical truth. Ministers who desire to maximize their Kingdom impact must work together in unity with others who are running the same race.

Renowned Bible teacher Andrew Wommack often states that “partners catch more fish,” referencing the miraculous catch in Luke 5:1–11. In that account, Simon Peter and his companions signaled to their partners in other boats to help haul in the overwhelming number of fish that filled their nets. Andrew Wommack frequently emphasizes that the Third Great Awakening is already underway, bringing an unprecedented harvest of souls. But just as in Luke 5, we as "fishers of men" will only be able to handle this abundant catch through strategic Kingdom partnerships.

To help foster those partnerships, Andrew established a ministerial network known as ARMI—the Association of Related Ministries International.

A Vision to Equip and Empower Ministers

ARMI is an extension of Andrew Wommack’s heart to see ministers connected, empowered, and equipped to fulfill their God-given calling to impact this world for Jesus. More than 40 years ago, Andrew began hosting an annual Ministers’ Conference at his Colorado headquarters, offering a place where ministers from around the globe could be refreshed, encouraged, stirred, and empowered.

Before launching his own conference, Andrew had attended many gatherings of ministers where the focus often turned to comparison and status. He found this approach counterproductive and committed to creating a space where ministers could receive from the Lord without competing for recognition.

Over time, this annual autumn event became known as the Global Ministers’ Conference—a gathering that began to feel like a yearly family reunion. Recognizing a growing hunger among attendees for deeper connection beyond the yearly event, Andrew launched ARMI in 2012.

Andrew often quips that he did not start ARMI because he “needed something else to do.” As the president of one of the world’s fastest-growing ministries, he already had a full plate. But he obeyed the Lord’s prompting to found ARMI for the sake of ministers looking to broaden their impact through Kingdom partnerships.

Collaboration with StartCHURCH

One of those key partnerships that the Lord has opened for ARMI is a flourishing relationship with StartCHURCH. Since August 2022, ARMI has actively pointed the ministers of our community toward the invaluable services that StartCHURCH offers.

During ARMI interest meetings, Andrew has shared that when he and his wife Jamie first began their ministry, they lacked access to lawyers or anyone who could help nonprofit organizations navigate the complexities of legal compliance. While Andrew and Jamie managed their ministry with utmost integrity—and the grace of God sustained them without fail—access to an organization like StartCHURCH would have made a significant difference for them in the early years.

Now, through ARMI’s partnership with StartCHURCH, ARMI ministers have access to the legal and organizational resources Andrew and Jamie wished they would have had at the start—another example of ARMI’s commitment to empowering ministers to thrive both spiritually and practically.

Ministry Beyond the Pulpit

ARMI encompasses more than traditional church leadership or conventional “pulpit” ministries. While ARMI is a network of ministers, we believe that the Lord has called and commissioned all believers to be ministers of reconciliation (II Corinthians 5:18). Many New Testament ministers are positioned by God to influence areas beyond the church—touching other spheres often referred to as the seven “mountains” of influence.

Whether your ministerial assignment is in business, government, media, arts and entertainment, education, family, or church ministry, there is a place for you in ARMI! Every area of culture needs the light of Jesus, and ARMI is building bridges across these spheres to equip ministers to shine brightly in their God-given callings.

Together, we are casting our nets farther and drawing in a harvest far greater than any of us could reach alone.
